Kim Pritchard is an Associate Professor of Athletic Training at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. She is responsible for mentoring scholarly activity for MSAT students at Shenandoah University and teaches courses related to therapeutic modalities, psychosocial intervention and referral, evidence-based practice, and scholarly activity.
Kim earned her MEd in Athletic Training in 2009 and PhD in Sports Medicine in 2013, both from the University of Virginia (Charlottesville, VA). Her line of study included therapeutic modalities, specifically the use of cryotherapy on acute injuries and soreness as it relates to subjective and objective measures of recovery and alterations in sensory and motor nerve conduction. Prior ot her time in Virginia, Kim earned her BS in Athletic Training from the University of Toledo (Toledo, OH) in 2008.
Kim has served the VATA as Annual Meeting Chair from 2013-2017 before joining the Annual Meeting Committee for District III (Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association), where she has served as the Educational Program Chair since 2017. Her responsibilities to the VATA and MAATA include coordination of continuing education events, ensuring that high quality education is offered to ATs and that both the VATA and MAATA maintain a good standing status with the Board of Certification, Inc. to allow the organizations to provide continuing education to ATs.
Kim resides in Winchester, VA with her husband, Blair, and two young children, Theo and Mira.
