The Honors and Awards Committee has the privilege of organizing annual Athletic Trainer of the Year awards and induction of new VATA Hall of Fame members. The committee compiles all nominations for the Executive Council, who then vote on the award winners. The committee also organizes and facilitates the Awards Ceremony, which is held during the annual VATA Symposium in January.



Maegan Daniels, MS, LAT, ATC

Clinical Education Coordinator

James Madison University



Maegan Daniels currently serves as the Clinical Education Coordinator at James Madison University  in Harrisonburg, VA. This is her 5th year at JMU and 8th year certified. Maegan graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2010, with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. In 2012, she earned her MS in Exercise Physiology from James Madison University. Currently, she is working on her doctoral degree in Global Sport Leadership at East Tennessee State University and has an anticipated graduation in May of 2019. Prior to coming to JMU, Maegan was the Athletic Trainer at Salem High School in Virginia Beach, VA. In her free time, Maegan enjoys spending time at the beach and snowboarding during the winter.
