2023 VATA Tom Jones Scholarship Recipient

Tanner Wynne

Hello All! My name is Tanner Wynne, and I am honored to be named the recipient of the 2023 VATA Tom Jones Scholarship. I am from Smyrna, DE, and recently graduated from the University of Lynchburg where I majored in Exercise Physiology. I am now a graduate student in the Masters of Science in Athletic Training program back at Lynchburg. I will also work as a graduate assistant in the Office of Parent, Family, and New Student Connections. I am incredibly excited about the future as I pursue my M.S. in Athletic Training. Although my days of being an athlete are over, I have always loved being involved with sports and look forward to being able to combine that passion with my goal of working in the field of sports medicine. My hope is to one day have the opportunity to work with NCAA Division 1 Football, or even venture into opening my own independent practice focusing on sports performance and rehabilitative care for athletes of all levels. I want to thank the Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association and Tom Jones Scholarship selection committee for their consideration and support in helping me achieve my goals!
